The Sustainable Ship Configurator is a tool for showcasing and comparing different sustainability solutions in the Finnish maritime industry.

Terms to know

Sustainable: Good for the environment, even in the long-term
CO₂e: All emissions are converted to their "carbon dioxide equivalents". Doing this allows us to compare them with each other and see their global warming potential.

How the configurator works

Partnering companies have provided data on their sustainability solutions.

You can select different solutions to see how much CO2e emissions would be saved compared to the base level.

This base level is based on the ship Viking Grace, if it used the default selections of the configurator.

The saved emissions are calculated for either the production of the ship, or for a trip from Turku to Stockholm.
